Coopers Pale

When I first came to Australia, it was a surprise that beers were served so cold. I was expecting more room temperature beers, given the British heritage. Once I realised that it is generally hot here, it made sense. Duh! Anyway once I got over that obvious one, I tried a few. Fosters had been heavily marketed in the UK in the early 1980s (only Real Ozzies drink Fosters). They had a really appealing advertising campaign. I was surprised that it was so heavily derided here. I stayed away. Likewise, VB is widely available in Singapore and similarly derided by most in Oz. Again they have a great advertising campaign here in Australia. I suspect that the quality of the advertising is inversely related to the quality of the beer. When I first got to Adelaide, I tried the local favourite, Coopers Pale Ale, made here in Adelaide. It was a very unusual taste. It is naturally brewed, with no preservatives and fermented in the bottle, giving it a slightly cloudy look. I have grown to like it (a lot). The green label is a South Australian Cultural Icon. Go away Lion Nathan. Leave my beer alone. Spend your money on funny advertising.

This design is steller! You certainly know how to keep a reader amused.
Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost.
..HaHa!) Fantastic job. I really loved what you had to say,
and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
